Every time I try to load a rom, I receive the “Retro Arch failed to load content” error message. I am running iOS7 on an iPhone 5c.
Gonna need some more information. To start with, which cores, which roms?
I have tried multiple Nintendo 64 roms (Super Smash Bros, Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Stadium, etc) from CoolRom and EmuParadise, on Mupen64plus. I receive the error on all of them. I tried running them as zips, and .n64s, also to no avail.
Are you jailbroken? If not, dynarec-based cores aren’t going to work. Even if you are, some people have reported issues on 64-bit devices with the pangu jailbreaks.
You can try going into the core options and setting it to use an interpreter core, though you may not get full speed.
No, I am not jailbroken. Also, where is the interpreter core? I don’t really care about speed at this point, I just want the thing to work. Thanks.
Core options in the in-game RGUI menu.
I’m facing the same problem. iPad 7.1 jailbroken
RA only accepts (bin/cue) files only. I’m not sure if this normal but it works for some games while other not. I thought it’s the game region but played Rockman 8 JP fine. I also download ISOs from emuparadise and coolrom.
However, it works fine with all roms in NES and Genesis
The bin/cue limitation is only for mednafen/beetle-psx (i.e., on Mac/Win/Lin rather than PCSX-ReARMed on iOS/Android), and it’s really only a cue limitation (i.e., it will work with iso/cue, img/cue, etc.). For mednafen/beetle-psx, the most common issues with ‘failed to load content’ are due to incorrect BIOSes or bad cue sheets.
