Fastforward lessens when Rewind is enabled?

When Rewind is turned on, the speed of the fast forward is decreased so much that it is not even noticeable. Specifically on SNES - on a Pi3. Why is this? Is it because the Rewind feature is too demanding on hardware like the Pi3 that it’s not capable of handling the normal fast forward speeds?

I’ve used recalbox on a Pi3 and it handled rewinding and fast forwarding just fine.

Yes, rewind does add overhead, and fast-forward is really just disabling audio/video sync so it can run as fast as possible.

If you were rewinding on recalbox, you were using RetroArch there, too.

Yeah I’m wondering what settings were different if it performed better on recalbox. Is it just “granularity” that will affect performance?
