FBA Neo Geo core crashing RetroArch when loading any rom

I’m stumped. Looking around on the web and everything seems to indicate this core is in a currently working state. But I certainly can’t seem to figure it out.

Basically loading any neogeo rom in that core on windows crashes retroarch. When i check the logs they are empty. Debug executable produces same results.

I have my neogeo.zip both in the system folder and the folder with the roms. i’ve confirmed retroarch is pointing to the correct system folder. I’m out of ideas.

The FBA neogeo core is working, right?

Yeah, it works fine. The most likely explanation is that your neogeo.zip is the wrong one. It’s actually kinda hard to find the correct one for FBA but if you google ‘fba roms’ the first hit should have the one you need.

I would think the one from the latest MAME set would be the one to start with, since they’ve added so many different BIOS versions to it over the years.
