Final burn arch games never work

Don’t know why. Other emulators work fine. I tried dozens of FBA roms but none worked. App just quits itself after I choose a game. Where to look at to fix?

Some notes about FBA ROMs -

  1. DO NOT RENAME THEM. FBA’s ‘game detection’ breaks down as soon as you change the ROM ZIP files, so don’t.

  2. You’re most likely missing ROMs (either parent or child ROMs) or your ROMs are just outdated and that’s why they won’t work. There’s not much I can do about this - and FBA always syncs their romsets to the latest MAME ones.

Are the files .7z .rar or .zip?

I also thought my FBA was hopelessly broken until I changed all the .7z files to .zip.

It matters.

Thanks for your replies. In fact I just got some luck as some games worked. I don’t rename the roms. e.g. I downloaded 1941.zip from ****** in the CPS1 section (I don’t know if it’s allowed to paste links here), it doesn’t work. What is the problem? As some games work some don’t, all NEO GEO games downloaded there don’t work for me. FBA is supposed to read NEO GEO games right?

Come on man, you know the score -

FIRST RULE OF FIGHT CLUB IS - YOU DON’T POST LINKS TO ROM SITES OR MENTION THEM BY URL. (and BTW, the one you linked to has outdated as hell sets- - just so you know - and that is the last I’ll ever talk about it).

And no, I’m not going to help you find the proper ones. I refer you back again to that rule in all caps above.

Any ROM problems you have are your problem and your problem alone, and it isn’t my issue. This is an unwritten and understood rule in the emu scene at large. Helping you obtain them is a no-no anywhere - and it is here as well for obvious legal issues.

All Neo Geo ROMs just work. You’re either doing something wrong, or you don’t have neogeo.zip (the BIOS) or you don’t have proper ROMs meant for the latest version of FBA.

Sorry. I’m not asking you for roms. I ain’t saying it’s the emulator’s problem either, but just wanted to have a clue what caused the problem.
