First Artistic Foray Into Custom Game Boy Palettes

First Artistic Foray Into Custom Game Boy Palettes

Hey everyone!

I’m sharing something entirely new today. This is my first attempt at designing custom color palettes for classic Game Boy games for Gambattle core, and I decided to test them out on icons like Super Mario Land and Kirby’s Dream Land.

Since this is my very first experiment with palette design, I’d love to get your feedback. Is the result good enough to keep going? Let me know your thoughts, and drop suggestions for other classic games I should experiment with next!

You can download and try the palettes yourself from the link below:

Nice work for a first attempt! The cyber palettes look great on Super Mario Land’s high-contrast sprites. One tip: test each palette on a darker level too, since neon colors can blend together there. For your next game, I’d suggest Tetris — its simple blocks really show off a palette’s range.
