First post - Nothing saves anymore!

I wanna say hi and thanks to the whole community for everything that changed the world of game emulation.

I have this arcade cabinet that my friend made years ago and I’m getting familiar with the basics of Retroarch but…

Recently, I noticed that when I’m done playing and do “Shutdown System”, nothing I did is remembered the next time I reboot the whole thing, which I did for years without any problem. Not only save states but also roms I deleted, configs I changed, Last Played games, inputs, nothing!

I tried to expand the file system and few other things but whatever I do, It’s like the Groundhog Day!

Thanks for your help and Happy Holidays!

Bump. Never too late I guess…

This sound weird. RetroArch (as a framework) definitely does not do this kind of rollback. The only thing that comes close is Lakka, which has a read-only file system that would indeed not remember any changes, but it would also mean error messages during saving, and it is configured in a way that any user changeable content (including roms, playlists etc.) would go to the writable part.

My guess would be an SD card failure - not typical, but I do have one that seems to be working well, but any file system writes will not persist.
