Freezing on Tablet in Windows 8.1 using gamepad overlays, works fine without overlay

I’m trying to figure out why when using a touchscreen gamepad (NES, GBA, SNES, etc.) overlay in RetroArch it freezes and does not respond when attempting to load any game in any core. If I disable the touch overlay, all the games work just fine. I’ve tried with the nightly versions and 1.0.0.2 (all 32-bit). My tablet specs are below.

Any ideas?

Winbook TW801 (Atom processor, 2GB RAM) Multi-Touch Touchscreen IPS 16:10 8" 1280x800 Display Intel Baytrail-T Z3735D 1.33GHz Quad-Core CPU2GB RAM & 32GB eMMC Storage Windows 8.1 32-bit

Which nightly, there were some threading issues that led to lockups on windows but that was almost a month ago.

At the moment I’m trying the one from last night, 3/27/2015. The “latest_RetroArch_full.7z” file from 3/27 @ 12:37AM. As previously mentioned, I’ve also tried the stable version. Both are exhibiting the same results.

Anyone have any ideas? Is there a version known to work correctly?
