Gamevice sound issue

I’m having trouble getting sound out of the gamevice controller. It connects to the Lightning port on the iPhone 6 and covers up the audio jack so you need to use the audio out on the controller itself. I can hear music from the music app just fine, but am getting no sound from RA. I’m using RA 1.3.6 on iOS 9.3.2 non jailbroken.

Does anyone know how to get audio to work?

Derp, figured this out. Retroarch doesn’t output sound with the Gamevice attached (through headphones connected to the gamevice) if the phone is set to silent mode. This is different behavior from how Retroarch works with just an iPhone and headphones but I can handle this
