Help. How do you configure 2 or more wii controllers?

I have Retroarch 9.9.6 android, and a 4.1 operating system. I am also using the wiimote app, and have 2 controllers synced up (sometimes i use the classic controller as well). When I go to custom binds, the controllers configure and set up perfectly, however, upon launching any game, only player 1 is working.

How do I set it up to recognize 2 or more controllers when launching a games? Thank you so much in advance!

Is this with all cores or just one (or several)?

It happens with all cores. I have seen videos of people using more than one controller on you tube on fba and such, but they never explain how they do it. Maybe it’s a minor oversight that im overlooking, but i have been trying everything and cant seem to get it to work.
