Here are custom Lichtknarre/VJoy and Chihiro Custom Cores

Title: Released: Wiimote IR cores for RetroArch + a Chihiro core and converter — Windows x64

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on and testing two free community projects with AI-assisted development, and the first releases are ready.

Wiimote / vJoy libretro cores

These custom cores use Wiimote IR through Lichtknarre → vJoy → RetroArch for:

  • Left-stick gun input on NES, SNES, Genesis/Sega CD/Master System, PlayStation and Saturn.
  • Selected SNES mouse games, including Mario Paint, Arkanoid: Doh It Again and Lemmings 2.
  • FBNeo pointing controls for Arkanoid, Centipede, Millipede and Missile Command.
  • Independent two-player NeoPong paddles and game-specific analog ship controls for selected Galaga-family games.

The Mario Paint Fly Swatter game and two-player NeoPong have been particular favorites during testing!

Chihiro libretro core + converter

The separate Chihiro project includes the core and a batch converter for supported XBE game packages into loadable BIN files.

Tested games include Virtua Cop 3, HOTD3, Ghost Squad, OutRun 2/SP, Maximum Tune 1/2 Export, Crazy Taxi High Roller and Ollie King. Features include gamepad and vJoy gun controls, supported card saves, crosshair sizing and optional widescreen profiles.

Downloads and setup:

Both projects provide Windows x64 builds, full source downloads, checksums, upstream credits and setup/compatibility guides. Standalone RetroArch is the primary setup; RetroBat integration is optional.

For Wiimote input, follow the supplied dinput/autoconfig instructions and disable left-analog menu navigation. SNES mouse also requires the documented core option. Chihiro strongly recommends Vulkan and a fresh RetroArch process for each game.

These are independent community builds with game/revision-specific limitations. No games or required BIOS are included. Credit goes to the upstream emulator, Libretro and dependency developers.

Feedback is welcome! Please include the core, game revision, setup and a log when reporting problems through GitHub Issues.

Interesting stuff. Thanks for making and sharing them!
