Is there any way to hide hidden files that may get carried over from your computer? Whenever I transfer files from my mac I always end up with hidden files that show up when perusing my Roms folder. The two main files are .DS_Store and .localized.
Yeah, that is just an annoying thing that OS X does. I think you can get rid of the DS_Store files like this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1629
Unfortunately, that only stops it for network drives, not local.
You can go to terminal and delete them yourself via command, but I always prefer something more elegant (and because I’ll never remember what the commands are).
There are a couple of programs that do the job for you, though. Blue Harvest is nice, but frankly, it’s pricey at $15. I’d never pay that kind of money for such a one pony app.
Instead, I just downloaded an app called OptimUSB from the Mac App Store, and it does exactly what I need it to (delete hidden files and then ejects the device) and nothing more. It’s only a buck, so why not. I recommend it for OS X users facing the same problem.
