HEY GUYS!I have installed retroarch 1.22 for ios 9 and downloaded the core mame078 , mame2003 and mame2000. But when I load the game “metal slug 4” or “metal slug 5” whith any core,the app will crash. but some other games may be normal. WHY? I’m sure I had put the neogeo.zip into the game folder. Could someone give me some help? Thanks!
MAME issues are almost always because of ROMset mismatches. Make sure you have ROMs from exactly the set that matches your MAME version. 2003 = 0.078, 2010 = 0.139, 2014 = 0.157. I forget which version 2000 is… 0.037b5, maybe?
You are correct that neogeo.zip needs to go into the ROM folder rather than the BIOS/system folder but you need to make sure that it also matches the core’s ROMset version.
Haven’t all the Metal Slug games been officially ported to iOS? I would recommend just getting those for better compatibility.
