I’m playing N64 and Snes on a xbox 360 controller. They dont require all the buttons so I tried setting left joystick press to fast forward, right joystick press to save state, and select to load state. But when i load muphen64 and play a n64 game those buttons dont do anything. What am i doing wrong?

Hmm. That should be fine. Do those functions work if you bind them to digital buttons instead?
L3 (pressing left stick), R3, and Select are all digital inputs.
Do the binds work with the SNES core you use?

Maybe its because i have override configs on for each core. But how can i get to the main settings if I’m in a game already? It just shows the core settings.
Anything you map in your main config should still trickle down to the cores, as long as your overrides don’t wipe out the mapping. You can still get to the other options from the quick menu just by going up one menu level (that is, by pressing the ‘cancel’ button; retropad B by default).
