How to setup service and diagnostic buttons on Final Burn

Hi,

I installed retroarch on my openelec HTPC and I am using it to play snes e genesis games. I would like to use it for playing CPS1 and 2 games… currently it is working, but I cannot access the service menu of the machine in order to change game difficulty, enable free play, disable turbo and so on.

How can I configure my retroarch.cfg in order to use such buttons?

I am using this build of openelec (generic):

you must go to RGUI, core options and toggle diagnostics mode

But when I choose core options it says that there is no options available.

For CPS2 at least works here

Maybe I am doing it in the wrong way…

Firstly, I open the retroarch menu using the following command:

retroarch -c /PATHTOCONFIGFILE --menu

Then I choose the core: first option “Core”… I choose fb_alpha

After that: I go to the fourth option “Core Options”… and I have a message that there is no options available.

Do I have to load the game first? If yes, how can I come back to retroarch menu from the game?

When I do the exit command it leaves the game and it does not come back to menu. I exit retroarch pressing two buttons simultaneously, just as shown bellow:

“input_enable_hotkey_btn = 8” “input_exit_emulator_btn = 9”

The default hotkey for the RGUI menu is F1.

Is there a way to map it to the controller, using a combination of keys just as I do to exit the emulator?

Thank you very much for your support.

Yeah, I think you can set it just like you did the other one. That is, hotkey button + map.

But what is the code for the menu? For the exit, it is

input_exit_emulator_btn

You DO have to load a game first and then return to game.

Also the option is somewhat broken… it’s not enable / disable, it’s more like a toggle, if you change it it you will enter the menu

input_menu_toggle = “”

Thank you. It worked perfectly… I also configured a shortcut to menu into my joypad.
