How to update cores in Linux?

Hey guys! How do I update the cores I have installed on Linux? In the “Online Updater”, I can access the “Core Updater”, and then I see a full list of all cores available in RetroArch. Do I have to manually pick the ones I already have installed from that list one-by-one and re-download them?

Is there a button/option that simply updates all the cores I have installed?

There is no core updater

It’s really a mislabeled menu. It’s a core downloader, not an updater. So yes, you need to download again, and you don’t know if you’re downloading the same version or an updated version.

@mrmatteastwoodyou could keep an eye on https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/linux/x86_64/latest/ and then update only the cores that changed via the “Core Updater”

Thanks guys! Good to have this link, already bookmarked it.

Do you know if there are any plans to implement an update functionality for cores on Linux?

I don’t think there’s such functionality on any platform. It’s not that it’s just missing on Linux.
