How to update RetroArch without need download the newer versions

Hello, how’s going?

I want to know if have a way of update RetroArch for the newer versions without the need of download it through the site.

I already have it on PC and the work of download the newer versions and replace it in the PC is boring.

There used to be a way on the Windows version, but it was removed.

So:

  • on Windows download the latest version and install over the existing location.

  • on Mac its a lot easier, download and replace the app.

on both, configuration files are (by default) stored outside of the install location so there’s no risk of losing anything updating this way.

I agree it could be — should be — easier. But here we are.
