Hi all,
I heard for the first time about RetroArch yesterday and I find it excellent. I want to test it on my PC and then I’ll do a project on Raspberry Pi for my nephews.
But I already already have some issues : I’ve had to install the emulator 4 times this morning, and it does not work. l followed this tutorial.
My computer is a Windows 10 x64, i5 2500K, GTX 770 2Gb, 8Gb RAM.
I downloaded emulationstation_win32_latest.exe on official website, .emulationstation.zip from Herb Fargus (link in video’s description) for prepared mods folders and CFG files. I changed the es_systems.cfg content by this one, the %HOMEPATH% text to my username in all the document, nothing hard here (username in 1 word), then I extracted RetroArch to its place, the RetroArch-v1.3.0-x86_64-Windows (stable version) and extracted Cores-v1.0.0.2-64-bit to its place. I also downloaded and extracted dolphin-master-4.0-9129-x64 in the dolphiin folder, but didn’t touch to its default configuration for the moment.
From RetroArch.exe I updated all Cores files. I didn’t change the default Bios folder.
I downloaded and placed a rom in the snes folder to test it, Super Mario World (USA).sfc
Exactly like in the video, I run retroarch.exe and I scraped the snes folder. then I have a controller icon added there, I select my only rom and I set snes9x as default Core for this game. From retroarch.exe I can run the game, I could play there with keyboard but my controller isn’t responding.
Then I run Emulationstation.exe, at first launch I set my gamepad, an old Logitech Precision (I will soon take a Xbox 360 controller) and then I run the game.
When I run the game, I have a quick return to the desktop and then I see a small window (prompt or MS Dos windows) try to open then it returns to RetroArch interface (in less than a second). It is so fast that it’s the effect of a flash, but nothing happens, the game doesn’t work…
Please could you help me.
