I don't understand Shaders!

Hi,

I read in this forum: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4205

Question was: Now the question. I can’t get the M and N hotkeys for next prev shader to work. I can set a shader through the ingame menu > shader options > load shader preset > some shader . But even when I load a shader from a folder that has more shaders in it once I go back to the game the M and N hotkeys has no effect. This with the latest Windows nightly.

Answered was: The hotkeys will only switch between cg and cgp shaders in the root of the Video Shader Dir you have set in your directory settings

I got the same question of Roldemort and after the answer of Awakened i put all my *.cg file in the root Video Shader Dir, M key and N key switch and load well the next or previous shaders. Anyway i did same with *.cgp files, but contrary as Awakened said, M and N key don’t load/see? the .cgp files.

.cgp files seems work with RetroArch Gui Menu only. .cg files seems to work with M/N keys only.

I understand that .cg files are shaders. I read that .cgp files are Presets of shaders, but i don’t understand what’s a Presets ?. I checked inside the .cgp files, it sound like Combo of .cg files + others informations.

I’m sorry but i don’t understand so much all of this.

My question is how switch .cgp files with M or N key in games?

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago. Are you running 1.3.6? There’s a bug in 1.3.6 that prevents prev/next shader from working, but if you grab the latest nightly build you should be fine.

The thread is here: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6431
