Input Issue - Multiple Profiles

I’ve run into an input issue… I have a 8bitdo Ultimate 2, which can store 3 profiles on board. When I first started up Retroarch after picking up the controller, I had three entries for it in the RA input binding menu, and assumed it was because of the three profiles on the controller. I decided to delete two of the profiles from the controller so it would just show one in RA. However, all three remain in RA. The problem this causes is that RA wants to keep using the ones that have been deleted from the controller… meaning I have no input until I manually select the right one. I tried setting the right one as the preferred controller, but it never sticks. I tried to find the .cfg files for the controllers (RA on screen notification said they were in some dinput directory) but could not find anything that matched the name of the RA controller profiles.

So, my question is… what’s the best way to get rid of the extra controller profiles in RA? I just want to be able to launch RA and have it use the correct controller. Thanks for any help you can offer… been trying to figure this one out for a while and am a bit stumped. Thanks again.

What’s it looking for? I can probably help you find it.

Thanks, Hunter… Do you mean the controller name? This is how they are listed… the third one is the only one that responds, but it keeps defaulting to one of the other ones and I have no input.

I was reading up on this a bit today. It seems like if I select the proper device from the index and set the “device reservation type” to reserved that it should always use that device. I tried doing this as a solution but it always launches with the wrong device activated.

edit I plugged my xbox elite (which was always working ok) and now the device index is empty. Tried changing drivers back and forth between dinput and xinput and no difference. I guess this has gone from bad to worse.
