Input settings aren't saving

Hi,

I’m trying to change my controls when playing Gameboy games to use square and cross rather than cross and circle, as I find it more comfortable. I can change the controls, but they reset whenever I load Retroarch. Does anyone know how I can get these changes to stick?

Thank you.

If you’re using 1.0.0.2, you just need to make sure you’re exiting cleanly (e.g., using ‘quit retroarch’ rather than just turning off your console mid-game) and it should write to the config properly. If you’re using a newer build, the core-remapping feature will let you move those around without affecting your mapping in menus and other cores.

Hi hunterk, thanks for your reply.

This is what I have read elsewhere but it is not working for me at all. Every time I load again all my video settings are saved by controller mappings are reset.

Hmm. That’s weird.

What if you open your retroarch.cfg in a text editor and manually change the mapping there. Do they still reset when you launch?

Never mind I figured it out. I needed to turn off “autodetect” in the input menu.

Ah, ok. That makes sense. Thanks for posting your resolution!
