Interface stuck

Morning!

I have something I can;t solve and I’ve looked all over. It’s very odd.

When I load retroarch, the menu comes up (the green background one with the text - not the fancy new one I’ve read about, but that’s for another day) and I can’t get the keyboard or arrow keys to change my menu selection. I don’t understand how to get it to just respond to me arrows. I can press whatever button brings up the search and it’s seeing me type. I deleted the .cfg from the /etc folder but still stuck.

Does this makes sense? Or too vague?

Just an update.

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled all of Retroarch.

Still no dice. What am I missing?

Why did you delete stuff from /etc? RA reads config from there just in the first time you launch it, then it reads from your home (~/.config/retroarch/retroarch.cfg), take a look at this, if you are using Ubuntu.
