iPad Air, Mario 64 & Classic controller

So gents, here’s an overview of the situation

What am I trying to get to? Playing Mario 64 on my iPad Air (1) 32 gb, using my Wii remote with Wii Classic Controller attached

Where am I at? I have retroarch installed, BTStack installed, have gotten my controller connected and started Mario 64

The Problem? As soon as I press a button on my Wii Classic Controller, the game freezes

So I have a few questions

  1. Why is my controller freezing the game?
  2. How do I properly map my Wii Classic Controller to work with N64, I see buttons but they don’t necessarily correlate to N64. For example, I don’t see the C stick.
  3. What are the best settings for me to run Mario 64 on to avoid glitches or slowing down?

I’ve done some searching around but it’s mostly been threads with dead ends :-/ really would appreciate the helps gents!

Thanks a lot.
