Is there a step by step guide to get MESS to work?

I wanna get MESS to work with the Atari 5200 is there a step by step guide to get it to work?

No, but if you get it working, such a thing would probably be helpful for others, if you wanted to write such a thing

This thread should be helpful: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3931 and this page: http://www.libretro.com/index.php/mamemessume-cores/

Hi,

When I try to load MESS core Retroarch always write no core, only with MESS core, with all the other cores I can load core and RA write the core’s name

I try to load some Amstrad CPC but at the moment I can’t, I found some tutorial ( 2014 ) with Amstrad GX4000

I put hash on systeme directories ( mess/hash) and bios in rom directories ( /mess/gx4000/gx4000.rom ) but MESS still not loading with RA I always see “no core” when I load MESS core

I try with Retroarch 1.3.4 ( new complete install ) and 1.3.2 with the lasted cores

All they other core work

Can you load MESS core ?

Thanks

Forget about it, retroarch is user unfriendly. Its better to save the time and life energy, and setup a proper standalone MESS without any retroarch.

The way MESS normally work, and how RetroArch work is polar opposites, especially with RetroArch’s Core-based system. Normally you’d load “MESS nes smb” thus you’d tell mess what gamesystem you’d like to run and what game you’d like to play on that system, but with retroarch’s way, there isn’t really that I’ve seen that one could replicate it, unless the retroarch dev’s decide to build mess in such a way that each of mess’ game-systems end up being a single RetroArch core, almost with what they did with mednafen. But I can’t see the devs doing it, it would ne nice as it’ll mean more systems that RetroArch can “support”
