Is there demand for a BlissBox 4play firmware designed for libretro?

Hi there,

I recently found out about libretro and I really love the idea.

I use a bliss-box 4play usb adapter to connect up to four different gamepads to my pc. You can get your’s here if you haven’t already: http://skunx7.wixsite.com/bliss-box

I talked to the creator of BlissBox about having a custom firmware made so the different pads always output what the retropad expects them to, based on these pictures I found in the retropie wiki: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/retroarch-configuration He said if enough people are interested he might create that custom firmware.

I’d love for the bliss box to automatically work with libretro in the same way the I-PAC works with MAME  Okay, maybe not exactly like that since I think you still need to setup one pad, preferrably the ps2 pad.

This is the layout I came up with:

I’m not sure about the Sega Dreamcast because it uses analog triggers and the 6 button pads of sega genesis, saturn and pc-engine/turbografx-16 (I think the Genesis layout is best with the shoulder buttons of the saturn being the triggers) as well as the Nintendo GameCube since the wiki didn’t have a picture of that

edit: Ah, there is even an official facebook post about allowing remappings on the bliss-box

I would love this. Right now im just remapping every time i want to switch to a diffrent console. Its a real pain, i think there should be a custom firmware for retroarch or even an app to make you own custom remapping.

Yes, that’s why I talked to Sean about it and it’s looking good, he seems quite interested. He wants to make that app at some point but it might still be a while off but I think if it can output exactly the way libretro wants it, I never want to remap again
