Issue with bsnes-hd beta on Retroid Pocket 5 (Widescreen not working)

I’m having an issue with the Super Nintendo emulator, using the bsnes-hd beta core, on my Retroid Pocket 5. This core was the only one that could run the Super Mario World Widescreen ROM made by VitorVilela7 (https://github.com/VitorVilela7/wide-snes). However, after I reset my Retroid and reinstalled everything, this widescreen ROM stopped working.

The problem is not with the ROM itself, because it works on RetroArch on my PC. I have already tried installing previous versions of RetroArch on the Retroid, but it still doesn’t work. I also tested another widescreen ROM, this time for Super Metroid, and it didn’t work either.

Could someone please help me with this? Thank you.

looks mostly okay here:

Did you set the core options properly? Conversely, there’s a BSO file that will handle the settings for you here (along with some setup instructions): https://github.com/DerKoun/bsnes-hd/tree/master/pack/gamefixes/Super%20Metroid%20widescreen%20patch

@hunterk

Yes, I configured everything correctly. I even thought the problem might be my Retroid, so I reset it, but it’s really not a configuration issue, since the ROMs are working normally on the PC emulator. It’s definitely some kind of issue on Android, when I click on the ROM, the screen just goes black.

“I managed to fix it. For anyone who wants to know, the problem was simply a RetroArch update. The current version is 1.22.1, and the widescreen mode does not work at all on Android, at least on the Retroid Pocket. So I downloaded the Stable version 1.21.0 (https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.21.0/android ), and it worked perfectly without any additional configuration. Just posting this to help anyone who runs into the same issue.”

Thanks for following up with your solution.

So, when you said they weren’t working, were they failing to load at all? or were they just not widescreen?
