Hello. I have a question about an issue I have emulating Jet Force Gemini. The game works pretty well, but whenever I try to complete the Floyd mission on the SS Anubis, the emulator crashes. This crash occurs either when pressing Start during the mission or when I finish the mission. This is the Floyd mission that has the Earplugs (an essential item) as a reward. The truly puzzling thing about this issue is that it does not seem to be emulator specific. I bought a Retrode in 2015 and this is one of the first N64 games I dumped from my own personal cartridge. At the time, I did not have a PC, so I first used Project 64 through Wineskin on a Mac. I also tried running Project 64 on a Bootcamp Windows 8.1 partition. I have tried various versions of Mupen on my Samsung Galaxy S8 and on my current Windows 10 laptop. My most recent attempts were through the ParaLLEl N64 Core on my Windows 10 laptop in Retroarch 1.8.4. Every one of these attempts has failed in exactly the same way. I even tried downloading a different save file that has passed this section of the game, but the result is identical. No article, forum post, or video I have seen shows the same problem. I have spent five years (on and off) trying to get this to work, and I am finally completely out of ideas. I’m hoping that there is a very obvious fix or something simple that I overlooked, but I really don’t know anymore. Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue? I can upload a video of the crash to YouTube if that will help. I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section; I’m new to this forum.
Hmm, if it always crashes in the same spot regardless of emulator, it’s probably and issue with the ROM dump. Have you compared the checksum against some known-good hashes, like no-intro?
Just after I posted this, I tried to dump the ROM again. The issue is gone! I feel a little silly, but I appreciate your quick response!
hey, no worries! I’m glad that got you fixed up!
