hi, I’m using a sega saturn controller, and I need to map the button configuration depending on the system used. I tried with --appendconfig function, but it doesn’t work well… can somebody tell me how exactly should the .cfg file I want to append be done? is there a way to config emulators regardless of the mappings I set for the interface?
appendconfig should work, but it’s a little awkward. There is a core-specific config setting you can enable in the in-game RGUI menu that will allow you to have a separate config for each core that gets loaded when you activate that core. I don’t have a ton of experience with it (it’s not something I use, personally), but I think it should do what you need.
Your mappings will still affect the menu buttons, though.
sorry for my english, im italian, I didn’t explain myself very well I mean this: I configure joypad inputs via gui, and it works fine. then, leaving the gui mappings unchanged, map the “A” genesis button on the “B” retropad button, “C” genesis button on the “LT” retroarch button, and so on is there a way to configurate INTERNAL core button mappings?
Ah, no. Not through any easily-accessible means. You can change the mapping in the source and re-compile the core, but that’s the only way, AFAIK.
AndresSM had some alternate mappings that he added as core options but Eke (the genplusgx author) chose not to add them. You could ask him if he has any builds with his alt mappings available, though.
