I actually got some of this from messing with some of the features in some Emulators on the original Xbox. Mainly the ability to search cheat codes, and use the results to operate rumbles.
I was wondering if it was possible to take this a step further.
Monitor a specific address, and if it lands on a designated value, have it operate commands within the emulator. I’m thinking, things like Playing external music (winamp plugins maybe?), overriding the active tileset with something external, overriding the active palette, or even tripping another code.
I think that this could have applications within the rom hacking community, in addition to user-made enhancements to games.
