Keyboard "Enter" key does nothing

Hello! I just installed Retroarch, and it starts just fine. I can navigate to different sections of the GUI using the keyboard.

The problem is, I cannot actually select an option by pressing enter. The enter key does absolutely nothing, and there is no way to dive deeper into the GUI. Escape works just fine.

Also, Retroarch recognizes my controller. It even names the controller properly as an 8-button blah blah… controller, but the controller doesn’t actually do anything.

Why does this happen?

The default keyboard bindings are ‘x’ for accept and ‘z’ for cancel.

Does it say your gamepad is ‘configured’? If so, it should allow you to control the menus with it. If not, you’ll need to go to settings > input and bind your buttons first.
