Keyboard remapping for missing keys

I just bought a new laptop that doesn’t have a scroll lock key. Is there a way to remap keys using the Fn key so they imitate scroll lock? My old laptop it was Fn + K.

I have been searching this site and all I find is remapping keyboards to controllers not keys to different keys. I need scroll lock for “game focus” but every other key on my keyboard is essential for computer games. The onscreen keyboard doesn’t work because the hotkeys don’t recognize the press from the onscreen keyboard.

I really don’t want to have to download unnecessary software, I was hoping something is already built into retroarch the same way keyboard remapping to controllers are.

My laptop is a HP 255 G8 Notebook PC by the way.

If you need to change where the hotkeys are mapped, just go to settings > input > hotkeys.

I know where the hotkeys are mapped, I was hoping of changing my keyboard through retroarch. Such as changing it so Fn + K = scroll lock, and then making scroll lock the hotkey for game focus.

Currently I don’t have a key for scroll lock. I was hoping Retroarch could solve that.

AFAIK, that functionality doesn’t exist within RetroArch, but if your keyboard supports Fn combos, those should show up as different keycodes, I think…? At least for the keys with an Fn function.
