Lakka vs RetroArch Windows performance

I have a Intel NUC for a set-top box. I only care about RetroArch and Steam.

I have used Lakka in the past on my RPi3 and I totally love it. But I do like playing a few games in Steam.

My two options are dual-booting between Lakka and Windows OR only running Windows and using Retroarch.

My assumption is that Lakka will run better than Retroarch on Windows because it has stripped away all the junk Windows uses, like background services; but on the other hand, maybe it is worse because of driver support and so on?

Does anyone have any experience on this issue?

I suspect it’s pretty close to a wash. Windows actually performs pretty well, especially with the low-latency drivers we have now, so I would just go for whatever’s more convenient for you.
