Least crappy Atari 2600 controller that captures the original feelz

Hey guys,

I dug a box full of Atari 2600 stuff out of my closet that I bought at a garage sale and found an OEM 2600 controller in there. I can’t tell if it’s been used for forty years or if it was junk when it was born. All three that I have seem to feel about as responsive and mushy like using an attached turkey leg as a controller.

Is there anything that you guys use that is somewhere in between the real deal and something that’s usable and responsive for the modern age that isn’t a dpad or thumbstick? Original equipment with the same pinout as the original Atari would work fine.

I bought a Mayflash Master System adapter that works with 2600 controllers and Lakka (accepts the same pinout physically). Going to upload the cfg file I made soon.

beside arcade sticks i use this combination for Atari 2600 Games

'The Stick is very responsitive with a nice “clicky” feel (uses industry-standard micro-switches)

I’ll have to check that one out. Sounds good.

Has anyone been able to get the paddle controllers working in Lakka?

Looking at the 2600-daptor but not sure if it works with Retroarch or Lakka. I already have the joystick controller working.
