Linux Device Driver for RetroBit USB NES Controller Adapter

Hey guys,

I’m a huge fan of emulators and such and i don’t want to miss the featues i get when playing with an emulator, so i decided to get me one of those adapters, so that i can play nes Roms with the original NES Controller.

unfortunately this only does work on Windows I don’t know why but my Archlinux system does not recognize the whole d-pad, means i can use all of the buttons except the up and left buttons of the d-pad.

it’s a pain in the ass playing.

So now i’m on a journey to find a solution for this problem. i found this: https://github.com/robmcmullen/hid-atari-retrobit

For the Atari RetroBit Controller Adapter it’s the same problem with up and left, who would have thought?, problem is i don’t know what it does or how i can reprogram it to make me a sandwich, i mean get the left and up button to work.

Does anybody had the same problem and can help me out here? I’m desperate for help right now

Is that with autodetect or manual binds or both?

Also, do you have any controllers that work correctly (just to verify that there’s no something weird on your end).

i surfed around the web and their were many people with the same problem. no it only occurs under Linux with Windows it works flawlessly.

If you want good support for original nes controller in arch linux you’ll need one of these. Its the only vendor I know of that has full and proper linux support plus the quality is top notch. I have a few myself.
