[Linux] N64 performance extremely slow

Hi all. I’m on the stable PPA which I have installed on top of KDE Neon. Generally Retroarch performs well but for some reason N64 is very slow and I cannot improve it. I’ve tried changing Vsync settings and threaded video options but nothing works. All other cores are fine.

Can anyone help? Many thanks.

What core are you using? Mupen64Plus or ParaLLEl ? And what’s your hardware spec?

Apologies for lack of info provided.

It seems I now have to install ParaLLEl in order for it to work. In the past I would just install Mupen64Plus core and that would be fine enough, but now I had to also install Glupen and ParaLLEl also. I am now running it using the ParaLLEl core and this seemingly works well.

Thanks for responding.

ParaLLEl is the old Mupen64Plus core you were using, it was renamed: https://www.patreon.com/posts/nintendo-64-core-8140492

Ah I see. Thank you for that. I was not aware of the change despite keeping up to date with Retroarch.
