Is there any way I can use an 8-button USB gamepad to emulate keyboard presses or mouse movement/clicks on the RaspberryPI desktop?

I use antimicro to map keyboard keys to the pad but you can also map mouse clicks (and maybe movements):

Thanks, Is there any way I can have this program up and running on my Raspberry Pi (running the latest version of Raspbian) by means of the terminal?

I haven’t tried in the Pi, but you can download the source and compile it (it’s explained in the downloads page of AntiMicro). You can use the program without graphical interface once you have defined the mapping for your pad, but I haven’t check if you can do everything from the console.

It looks like the file for Debian based Distros is somewhere in this URL: http://packages.libregeek.org/. I’m not the best with navigating this kind of stuff, could you help me figure out where the .deb file is?

does that site offer ARM builds? I only saw amd64 and i386.

It doesn’t look like it, do you know of any raspi compatible programs like antimicro
