I am using MAME through Android retroarch on Retroid handheld and when I apply bezel art through the usual game.lay/bezel.png method the shaders I use also are applying to and changing the bezels which is wrong/bug. I use the same method on Windows MAME version and the shaders do NOT affect the art which is correct. How do I fix this so that the shaders only affect the game play area and NOT the bezel art?
This is not a bug. mame-libretro can apply artwork, but it is composited into the core’s output, which then gets shaders applied to it.
RetroArch has its own system for artwork/bezels that are not affected by shaders.
“RetroArch has its own system for artwork/bezels that are not affected by shaders.”
…And how do I use that?
If you want stuff for every game, your best bet is to use the ‘bezel project’ scripts to automate setting them up.
