Mame status on android shield tv

Hi, I have bought a shield tv in order to have retroarch and hyperspin working for great emulation.

I would like to know if the nexts android version of mame git will correct the weird resolution and fuzzy Graphics ? Because to avoid this defaults , we need to activate in options the alternate video renderer to correct this but it cancel the shaders with scanlines. It would be so great to find a solution because I read others posts to advise to use mame 2003 or mame 2010 but theses cores aren’t available on android. So at this time we can’t emultate a mame version on android with shaders (fba doesn’t have have all mame games) Thanks. regards

mame2003 etc seems like it’s on android? http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/android/latest/

yes but it has the same problem of graphics

can you give me an example of the issue?

weird resolution (gameinfo screen blury) scanlines uneven jitter in scrolling

all theses problem doesn’t appears on another plateform but i would like to use retroarch on my shield tv

Why not just use FBA, it runs almost every arcade game full speed I throw at it.

Also MAME 2010 is available for android: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6865

i can’t think why mame2003 would cause any issues on android - it doesn’t do anything special with how it displays. i think your config must be weird or something. has anyone else tried it on android?

It’s a known issue:

They don’t seem too keen on fixing it though.

A temporary fix is to use the alternate render method.

@dagnillo That’s just for the latest MAME. The dated snapshots shouldn’t have any rendering issues.

Sorry but I download the core of this post, install on retroarch folder core (shield tv rooted) but it won’t load the cores when I select it in “load core”

So it’d been fixed since then?

Make sure the core has the appropriate permissions and set system to rw

It took me 2 months to find out that on android you must disable SELinux in order to load a core file that you manually place in the core directory.

Once you do that, it should load fine.
