What is the “MegaPack” on the downloads page? I’ve searched the libretro site, the readmes in the release packages, these forums, and google but have been unable to find any information on what this pack contains, whether I should use it or not, or why it’s smaller in filesize than the 1.0.0.2 release. If anyone could enlighten me that would be much appreciated.
The MegaPacks are old, pre-1.0.0.2 releases just kept there in case anyone wants/needs an older version for testing or whatever. They’re smaller because there are a number of new cores that have been added since they were released.
We’re breaking the cores out into a separate download soon anyway, though, so it won’t matter.

You might consider putting a short summary of that on the download page in the interim though, or at least add [Old] to the filename or something. When I googled the issue all I found was a few people who were similarly confused and a whole mountain of old advice saying to “Download the latest MegaPack”. I’ve actually been using the MegaPack version up until now due to following that old advice.
