Memory card on PSX emulator

Hi team,

I installed Retroarch and I must say you do a great job. However, I have a slight problem with the PS1 emulator and memory card. You can make backups of states, but I wish I could save on virtual memory card. When I am in game no problem backing it, but when I want to load the game, the data disappeared. So I worry for multi-disc games with “save state” …

Sorry for my english I’m french

Have you renamed the name of your ROM-file? RetroArch has the individual mem-file for each game, and renaming of the ROM may cause the dissappearing of the in-game saves. Or maybe you have a problem with permissions.

I dunno for PCSX-ReARMed but for Mednafen-PSX they are on the System Directory

In addition to the aforementioned permissions thing, make sure you have it set to automatically save the SRAM to file periodically and/or you always exit from the ‘quit retroarch’ entry in RGUI.

What frequently happens with in-game saves is that the SRAM isn’t written to file every time it changes (this is necessary to support games that use SRAM as system RAM), so if you never exit the emulator properly, the information is never actually written to disk.

It’s implemented all you have to do is save your game “in game” And then close the game by tapping the top middle of the screen (not the retro arch logo) And close content That’s it your save is there I used this to get to disk 3 in ff9 Reply or message me for disk switching I’ll gladly help

@ hunterk and Coysandy21: Your method works well thank you
