Moga A hero, new user questions

I am about to ditch my ipod touch 5th gen for an HTC M8 so I can be able to play the newest releases. I want to be able to play PSX and N64 with smooth framerate and no lag. Not possible on ipod 5.

So my question is about what controller with 2 analogs is the best option? I’m thinking Moga Hero because I like the size. But I’m curious, do the analog stick actually work like analog sticks and not just an analog version of a dpad (IE 8 directional)?

Also, I remember skimming another topic. Do some cores not work with images off of a memory card? BC being able to use a 64gb memory card would be a huge bonus for this thing.

I have a Moga Hero. It works with Retroarch in HID mode (not Moga mode). I’m not sure if the analog stick is true analog. I think it is, but I’m not sure if it’s implemented correctly in Retroarch.

The KitKat update ruined Retroarch’s ability to read roms on the SD card, BUT the new v1.1 release should fix this.

Only zipped ROMs. Decompress them beforehand and it works fine.

Yeah, but I keep the full no-intro set on my sd card. I don’t have the space to unzip each of them.

Also, when is v1.1 coming out? It seems like it’s been “almost released” for quite awhile now.

It’ll happen when it’s ready. The plan was for sometime this month, but it may get pushed back a little bit because Squarepusher wants it to be a good, solid release. He’s been working his ass off on it, basically rewriting everything so it’ll be easier to maintain.
