I have been playing with this for a couple of days and am very impressed on the performance for Android (GS3). Before I go to the trouble of trying FFVII or Metal Gear Solid, is is possible to play multi disk games. can you just go back and select the appropriate disk when prompted and the save sate will pick up where you left off or will there be a problem? I’ve had a look round the forums but can’t see this addressed anywhere obvious. Thanks for a great job and I look forward to more updates.
While I think of it I can’t get any Tomb Raider games to go beyond the menu screen. Intros work fine but as soon as it tries to load I just get a black screen. Any ideas?
It’s either your image or you are not loading with a real PSX BIOS but PCSX ReARMed instead is using the HLE emulated BIOS. If the latter, expect serious game-breaking bugs to be common.
But Tomb Raider definitely works with the real PSX BIOS - I can vouch for that myself.
The next version (0.9.9) should tell you at startup whether or not a real PSX BIOS could be find in either your system directory or the same directory where your image is located. For now, just put one of the BIOS files inside the same directory as your game.
This is documented in the Manual BTW.
Regarding your question about disk swapping - yes, this should be in the next version (0.9.9). You will be able to do disk swapping through RGUI (a ‘new’ built-in menu that can be toggled on/off)
Thanks for the quick reply. I have BIOS SCPH1001 located in the same folder as the ROMS. I have Dark Forces working perfectly, FF Tactics and Abe’s Odeysee all without a glitch, so I suppose it must be my ROM image in which case. Your documentation (nice and comprehensive by the way) doesn’t mention .iso’s as being compatible. If the emulator does not read them could I load the iso onto a virtual drive and extract the files?
Re disk swapping: thanks for this I look forward to the update. This is a great tool. Beats the hell out of all these awful in game payments and multiplayer nonsense on Android.

edit suspect my images to have been poor. I am going to try alternatives today and will update.
I have replaced my ROM images with new ones. I now have Vagrant Story, and Jade Cocoon working perfectly. Tomb Raider II works now too but required the SUB and CCD file to move from the menu. So those three along with Dark Forces, Abe’s Odysee and FF Tactics I have my hands full. All working at full speed with no lag or video/audio glitches. Amazing stuff! Thanks again.
