Mupen 64 Plus core slow on Android?

Same here. All cores working like a charm except Mupen64. I’m running RA 1.3.1 (and tested latest nightly build with same result) in Shield TV (3.0 Marshmallow).

With RA 1.2.2 I had “RA stopped working” when I tried to load any N64 Rom. Now with 1.3.1 I can load but I get a black screen (and sometimes I can see the “Nintendo” logo or sounds).

Thanks for all you work.

I have a copy of the core from some weeks/months ago, it’s working. It’s just crashing randomly with Pokemon Stadium 2. You’ll need android adb

adb shell
su
cp ../storage/emulated/legacy/Download/mupen64plus_libretro_android.so data/data/com.retroarch/cores/

Or change the Core Directory to something writable / easy access in:

Settings tab --> Directory --> Core Dir

And copy mupen there

There’s an update on git which makes Buffer Swap = OFF by default, turn it OFF and you’ll see a great performance.

Btw, the core is working again on Android.

I can hear the issue where audio pitch is slightly out of place also causing scratchy GBA speaker style audio like an older stanalone version of AE. Can’t wait to see the changes to gfx plugins so I could perhaps test some stuff.

Didn’t work for me, like, I can get games to boot, but I can’t switch the core to Dynarec, nor can I force enable the games to use Glide/GlideN64 without the emulator crashing. Top that off with the fact I can’t limit the audio from playing too fast. I’ll be sticking with the auto builds instead… Don’t know what else to do, the bloody core won’t work at all. Shouldn’t there be a way to limit/sync audio?
