Just curious, for the Buck Rogers one, is there a way to show the score counter increasing during gameplay, as well as the top scores eing replaced as new top scores are set? That would be excellent if it could, and would help for other early Sega games like Monoco GP and Turbo.

No, unfortunately Mame is very limited. I mean an animation of the numbers changing could probably be added but it wouldn’t be part of the game. It would be just for show. I know some people n the community who add animations to bezels like a control stick moving or lights blinking, but it’s just for show. You could ask Derek Moore. He knows more about animations in bezels. For example here he took one of my bezels and made the control stick move in conjunction with the movements in the game. Pretty cool.

Ah, I ask as an option for artwork I have already has “Cockpit Artwork” as the first entry for the game’s Video Options, which actually does count up the score as the player progresses. The default.lay file even has the LCD digits for the artwork set up to actually function. The artwork I currently use has transparencies for where the top 5 and player scores would be displayed.

Well that’s beyond what I can do. I taught myself to do this so I’m learning as I go on. If you or anyone else can add these animated details I welcome them to my bezels. As long as I get credit for the bezel.

Some weeks ago I did a very simple artwork for Buck Rogers including the animation of the numbers. Please, if it can be some kind of help for someone, take it and use it without any problem.

Sure, I did it too some time ago.

I have made, with the animation of numbers, these games: buckrog, maxaflex (Boulder Dash), monzagp, subroc3d and turbo.

I don´t know if there is some game more on MAME whit animation of numbers

Let my send you a PM with all of them in a “preliminary” version and we’ll made all the changes they need. After this, use them like you prefer (put them here and youtube, etc…). You don’t need to give me any credit, all the hard work during all this months it’s only yours, and you are the master here.

If I really can help you on something, that is my real goal.

Here is an update to my realistic arcade bezel for Turbo. This one is special as it uses the real time digital score keeper and pedal meter. There’s also a new dark mode which lights up the cab and gives it a more arcade feel. These new features are thanks to MQC. A fan and supporter who wants to help out. I’m very appreciative of his work. Hope we can work together on more future projects.
