N64 Clipping

I’ve been using the Mupen64plus FZ standalone for a while now, but I would like to get everything under Retroarch so I only have one interface to deal with. The problem I am having is that all N64 games are “clipping” any objects close to the camera. It’s kind of hard to explain, but anything within 2 feet or so of the screen just disappears. For instance, on Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer I can see the engines and tethers just fine, but the “pod” disappears when you slow down and it gets closer to the screen. Has anyone else had this issue?

By the way, I’m on a Shield TV and I have tried all 3 available N64 cores with the same results.
