Messed around with the audio settings to try and fix it to no avail. The problem is in every game I tried. Is this a fixable problem?
Are you playing NTSC games vs PAL? Is your framerate dipping below 60fps?
Thanks a lot for your constant help. Slowly learning…
Yes the frame rate is dipping slightly below 60. The average looks to be about 58 fps. That’s enough to cause choppy sound?
My games all end in .v64 and .z64, not .pal. I think this means they are NTSC.
Yeah, anything steadily below 60 will give you bad sound. Check your core options and make sure you’re running the dynarec version and not the interpreter. Also, which device are you using?
I’m running “dynamic_recompiler”. I’m also on an iPad mini retina, which has the best specs on any iOS device to date.
Can I downsample the audio or something? I’d rather have lower quality audio than choppy.
I’m not sure what all you can do (I haven’t used the mupen core extensively enough to know, and it’s still changing pretty rapidly), but I would suggest poking around the core options and seeing if any of the other plugins improve things for you. I know Rice is faster but not as accurate, and I think there are some others in there that might help.

Try lowering the internal resolution
in my experience this won’t do much. switching the gfx plugin or lowering the gfx accuracy can help a lot though.
