Need help saving games in the PSX emulator in RetroArch for android

Hello all. I need help using the in game save feature (saving to memory card) for Persona 2 : Eternal Punishment for the PSX emulator in RetroArch on Android.

The save/load state works just fine, even the in game save to memory card works…BUT! If I load a save state then try to use the in game save to memory card it won’t work (it doesn’t even see the in game save on the memory card, it’s just empty). The game won’t save and the in game message says “Saving Failed”.

I have every PSX bios I could find : SCPH101 SCPH1000 SCPH1001 SCPH3000 SCPH5000 SCPH5500 SCPH5502 SCPH7000 SCPH7001 SCPH7003 SCPH7502 SCPH7502(41a) put in the ROMS directory where the game is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not really a solution, but i have never actually had saving in the PSX emulator work for me. I just use a bunch of save states instead.

The crazy thing is, using the “in game” save DOES work. It’s just that if I load up from a save state and later, when I’m done playing, I try to use the in-game save to save my progress it doesn’t work. It’s basically either-or. Either I use the in-game save to record my progress or I use save states.

The only reason this concerns me is if later they update the app, will it recognize my save states?

Having said that, this emulator rocks. It’s the ONLY one that plays Persona 2 : Eternal Punishment at full speed with no glitches or freezing with PERFECT sound (which is a big thing for me because I LOVE the soundtrack) on the android platform (even my PSP isn’t capable of doing it).
