Need help with syncing Sega CD save files via Dropbox

I play old video games. On my phone and on my TV. I like playing a game on my TV and continuing where I left off on my phone, so I use Dropbox and Dropsync to sync my save files to my phone.

Sadly, my Sega Genesis emulators don’t get this. I’ve progressed pretty far in both Secret of Mana and in Snatcher. Secret of Mana’s save files sync as they should. It’s a SNES game. I do something on my phone, save and quit Retroarch, and I can continue where I left off on my TV. When I do so with Snatcher it doesn’t work. I’m asked if I want to save to the system memory or the CDRAM after the splash screen, and my save slot isn’t there. It can’t be the game, so it has to be the system.

I use the “PicoDrive” core on my phone and the “Genesis Plus GX” core on my TV. The save file in my Dropbox is titled “Snatcher.srm”.

Why won’t my TV play my phone’s save files?

Make sure you are using exactly the same rom with the same name in both devices. Also try transfering the srm via usb and see if that works.
