Neo Geo Memory Card

Does anyone know how to install a memory card for Neo Geo using RetroArch? I want to be able to save my unibios settings and from what I have gathered, that is done on the memory card.

Thanks

I don’t think it’s implemented: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4097

Interesting. I did not think it was a core issue. Sega CD has a separate file in the saves folder that is used to save games. I had assumed that I just needed to certain file within my Neo Geo/Saves folder in order to get this to work. Any idea why this would not be implemented? The UniBios seems to be a part of the core and the only way to save those settings is with a memory card…

Any update on this. I too would like to know how you use the Memorycard feature on retroarch for the NeoGeo.

Thanks

I do not know if this helps, but I am using the latest FB Alpha Core for Neo Geo Emulation along with the available Unibios:

Core options: Force Neo Geo Mode: UNIBIOS

When I set the region and version for example to Japan / AES those settings get automatically saved under RetroArch/saves/fba/[game].fs and reloaded when you play the game another time. It is possible to save service menu settings in this file too (i.e. color of blood in Metal Slug).

However, once you switch to another Neo Geo mode like MVS or AES those save files get overwritten when you start a game.

I haven’t found a way to change the service menu settings in AES mode, that’s why I am using UNIBIOS via “Force Neo Geo Mode”.
