Netplay with three players on two computers

I’m trying to play Secret of Mana across netplay. I’ve tried snes9x and succeeded in getting 2 players to work, but cannot get the third player to work. With snes9x, only the first two controllers work. On snes9x next, if multitap is turned on on both sides, the second controller controls both the second and third inputs. This also happens without netplay on snes9x next, the second controller controls both the second and third inputs. So, I guess this comes down to two questions. First, which snes core does multitap work well on? Second, on netplay, can we set up the host to use controllers one and two and the client be controller three?

OS: Fedora 19 X86_64 (both host and client) Retroarch v0.9.9 Snes9x (and next) v(whatever git as of 09/01/13 is)

On a side note, I’m looking forward to seeing how the netplay test on the Shield goes. Being able to netplay from anywhere on my Shield would be awesome.

Thanks for everything you all have put into this project, Steel01

I hate bumping threads, but does anyone know? Surely I’m not the only person to want to use multitap. Though, I can see the netplay question being a corner case.

Thanks again, Steel01

I can’t even get multitaps to work correctly on a single 64-bit windows computer without netplay. The extra controllers show up in game but never control correctly

bSNES, Gensplus GX, and PicoDrive ignore players 3/4/5, SNES9X copies player 2’s inputs to players 3/4/5, and SNES9x Next copies player 2’s inputs to everyone.
