New cores signification

Hi, I discover recently some extra cores like:

bsnes cplusplus98 MAME 2003 plus snes9x 2005 plus

is someone could explain what are the difference between them and the originals thanks regards

bsnes cplusplus98 is a fork of bsnes circa v085 that compiles with ancient compilers. It also plays a little nicer with runahead than the more recent versions, IIRC.

MAME2003-plus is a fork of MAME2003 (which is itself a fork of MAME circa v0.078) with the goal of adding a bunch of stuff like backported games and CD soundtracks for certain games.

I’ve never heard of snes9x2005-plus. snes9x2005 is a fork of snes9x circa 2005. Previously known as CatSFC.

thanks so much for your clear answers regards

and sorry to bump but these cores:

fbalpha2012_cps1_libretro fbalpha2012_cps2_libretro fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro

are they considered as “split cores” or do they have some extra features ? thanks

they’re for platforms that don’t have enough RAM to load the full FBA2012 core at once.

ok thanks all is clear regards

You guys are adding cd soundtracks to certain MAME games?..

You guys should do this with the Taito & Gnet games (Raystorm, G Darius, Psyvariar, etc.)

If you are familiar with alternate CD soundtracks for those games please feel free to post about it at http://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro/issues

Just one or two people are involved in the CD soundtracks so it’s up to them what they want to take on. It might be helpful for you to start an issue in the tracker sharing what you know about the sources of alternate audio for those games so that the information is in one place where coders can see it.
